  Dear Yuuichi:

Just a short note to let you know I am back home from my trip to Europe.

I got an Air Force flight from San Antonio to Frankfurt, Germany. Spent two nights on base. Then took a train to Paris for three nights. I tried to get a fast French train to Spain, but there were none crossing the border. Finally took a night train (Spanish) to Madrid. I made a side trip to Toledo. After two nights there, I went on to Granada. The Alhamabra was beautiful. Stayed two nights before going to Gibraltar.Enjoyed my stay there. I had intended to stay longer, but I had a strong feeling I should get to Rota Naval Base (near Cadiz) if I wanted to get home in time for a Dixieland jazz fest. Our Austin Traditional Jazz Club sponsors this event each year in Boerne, Texas (Near San Antonio).I took the bus on a Thursday for Rota.Friday morning I got on an Air Forece plane for Norfork,Virginia. I was lucky as some people had been waiting a week for a ride back to the States. I had to take a commercial flight back to Texas.

The jass fest was very good. I am not a musician, just someone every musician needs an audience.

The day before I left, I sent copies of my manuscript to several people so that they could check it for accuracy.Copies went to the other pilot. He and three crewmwn were kept at Rabaul.McMurria was the only one who survived. Another copy went to the historian of our Bomb Group.Dr.Goad, the doctor at Omori is reviewing the third copy. It will be interesting to see what they say about it.

I want to thank you again for all of your assistance.

Sincerely
ROB
