Dear Yuichi:

Your timely and welcomed letter of the 8th arrived three days ago. At that time I was trying to find out how to contact either one of the two CBS correspondents. Your letter saved me a lot of trouble. I have called Mihailovich, but he call soon.

Bob Simson is a well known reporter. I have seen him a number of times of times recently broadcasting from the Middle East. He was held as a prisoner for several days by Iraq during the Gulf War. Your comments about his abilities were most interesting.

Thank you for the old address of Lou Zamperini. Evidently, he no longer lives in Torrence, but may still be in Hollywood. I will try to find him there. He and I were in correspondence with each other for a few years after the war while he was in Torrence. Torrence is a part of the Los Angels Metropolitan area. The city is just south of L.A. (between L.A. and Long Beach ) and near Rancho Palos Verdes, where Thor Petterson lives. Thor was the Norwegian who designed and made some surgical equiptment for the doctors at Shinagawa hospital camp. I will try to see both of them after I get Lou's address.

I did FAX a letter to Mrs.Endo. I hope we can work out a satisfactory financial which is suitable for both of us. I am sorry her newest booki is not selling as well as expected. Her next one should do much better. Thank you for your efforts on my behalf.

I am happy you are going to Turkey as it is an interesting country. I was fascinated by Istanbul and I would like to go back there. Please tell me where you will be staying, and when, in Istanbul. Although I do not expect to be traveling to Europe this spring as I need to build-up my bank account, there is always the possibility I will change my mind if the Ari Force has plane going to some interesting location.

I wish you happy and safe traveling.

Sincerely
Bob
