Dear Yuichi;

I am also very glad the CBS show is over. Now we can try to get back to our regular routines. I still have about three more days of correspondence to finish.

Thank you for the photo of the work party being inspected by W. I cannnot identify any of thePOWs. It seems to be the Shiodome work party. I am sending a photo-copy of the picture to Peter Paul in England. He was the POW honcho the Shiodome group.

I was glad to learn about the Memorial Peace Garden and the Yokohama cemetery. Mr. &Mrs. Ishizuka (sp.) are to be commended for their fine efforts and accomplishments. The information has been sent to Linda Holmes.

It is good you are planning to make the trip to Spain because you need a change of pace (activity ) after the confusion of the past several months. That is how I feel now. Although I do not like the difficulty of going and coming home; I do enjoy being at my destinations.I suggest that you try to see the naval museum in Madrid. It is small, but good, and is only open from 10am until 1:30pm. I got there at 1pm; therefore I only got a quick look at it. I would like to see it again. Check the time schedule before you go there. I hope there is a good bull fight while you are there. Be sure to get a seat on the shady side because it will be not when you are there.

I was also surprised to learn about Newman (Newmann?) as I had not heard anything about him before your letter. His name is not in my records or books. I have asked Tom Ouilliam and Peter Paul in England for information about him. They will be the best sources that I know there. I will ask others for information when I write them. I am curious to learn more about Newman. Hopefully, Tom Wade will be able to find some information. Incidentally, I have not heard form Wade in more than three months.

My travel plans are uncertain at this time. I will try to get on the AF flight on the 22nd. My name will be at or near the top of the Space Available list. I will have to wait until I get to Frankfurt to find out where and if any flights are doing from there at that time. The usual destinations in Europe are Italy, Turkey, Spain and England. I would like to go where I have not been before -like southern France, Austria or Norway. You will have to wait until you get a post card from me in order to find out my final destination.

Have a good and safe trip.

Sincerely
Bob
