Dear Yuichi;

This is a quick note to let you about my travel plans. I had to cancel my trip to Germany last Wednesday because I was very tried and very busy. It has been the right thing to do as several eventful things have happened.

First, my aunt in California is very sick and in the hospital. My elderly uncle ( 93 years old ) wanted me to come there. I will leave early tomorrow morning for San Francisco. I expect to be gone about ten days.

Secondly, I received a book from Norway that is about the Norwegians captured in the Far East. The author is a well-known writer and was a POW of the Germans. I have been in correspondence with him. I have been anxious to read the chapter about Watanabe and what was said about Omori. The trouble is the book is in Norwegian. This morning I had coffee with a lady who is going to read it and tell me about it. She is Norwegian and is a translator ( no cost to me ). She will translate part of it for me. I will tell you later what she tells me.

This week-end I found out there will be a flight to England on May 21st. I will try to get on it, but my annual physical exam is two days prior to the flight and the doctor may want me to have some extra laboratory work done. This could cause me to miss the flight. If possible , I would like to go to Norway. I will check to see if there are still any Air Force flights going from England to Oslo. I will also check on commercial flights, but they may be too expensive for me. I will have to wait and see what happens.

I must close now because there are number of things I must do within the next few hours.

Have you made your travel plans?

Sincerely
Bob

P.S. (post script) I received a letter from Tom Wade today. He had just received a copy of the video from Draggan and was disappointed in having a 2 hour interview, but only had about 2 minutes shown. Otherwise,he thought it was very well done.
