I believe by the time you receive this letter Joe A.will be in Japan. The enclosed schedule for the C-5 aircraft from Kelly AFB in San Antonio shows that one was scheduled to leave yesterday and arrive in Japan on the 7th. There is always the possibility that he could get "bumped" ( put off the plane ) at any point enroute.

Friday and Saturday nights were spent in Oklahoma City where my old Bomb Group was having its annual reunion this year. There were only four or five people I remembered from the days before I was shot down. Most of them had joined the Group afterwards.

I will patiently await Mrs. Sasamoto's booklet. It will be an important addition to my collection and it should be of great value to future researchers when the collection is given to a museum.

There is still no news from Norway.

You are correct in advising Michael Norman not to delay in making his desired contacts and interviews. I was fortunate with some of my earlier ones because they died shortly after I saw them; especially with Major Frankcom ( three months later ) and Robert Tusken ( four days later ). Eddie Ward ( Scotland ) moved about eight months after I saw him two years ago and no one knows what has happen to him. Five years ago I was scheduled to meet with several men in England because I wanted information about our kitchen in Omori and both of them had worked there. They died one to three weeks before I got to England. This was a major disappointement for me because I had known them so well while in Omori. I had also counted upon them to provide me with the needed information about the operation of the kitchen.

I am not planning an overseas trip because of the recent dental surgery. I will leave this Thursday fou San Antonio to see the play which one of my grandsons is in and to attend the Adm. Nimitz's symposium about intelligence in the Pacific during the War. Later, I may fly to the West Coast.
