マーティンデール氏と八藤雄一先輩の手紙

May 22, 2002
Dear Yuichi:

I am planning to go to Bill Barrette's exhibition in Philadelphia in June. I plan to leave here on the 11th for Baltimore where I will spend several days before arriving in Philly ( slang word for Philadelphia ) on the 14th for three nights. Then I will go to NewYork or to Washington for a few days. I was glad to learn from Takeo that Tobita will be there. I had planned to see my daughter in North Carolina on that trip, but that would have made the trip too long. So I will see her in July.

Nori came to the ADBC meeting in San Antonio last week. It was very nice to see her again. I was disappointed that Takeo was too busy to come to Texas. I enjoyed taking her to Randolph AFB, where we had lunch, and then to her the Alamo and to the Riverwalk. I drove her to the Adm. Nimitz Museum in Fredericksburg and she got to meet Helen McDonald. I was glad that I was able to show her some of the sights in Texas. My health and ability to do many activities is good.

I am very sorry to learn that your health may prevent you from attending the Fulbright reunion because I know how much you wanted to go there. It will be a disappointment for me in not seeing you.

Please give your family my best wishes.

Sincerely
Bob
