Dear Yuichi;

I have been going over the last third of my manuscript in order to determine what episodes and parts need to be corrected or rewritten. Several sentences of my episode caused me to lean back in my desk chair and try to revisualize the event.

A large number of prisoners were brought into Omori soon after the Emperor had made his speech on the radio. Most of these men were in bad physical condition and their clothing were infested with vermin. At the request of dr.Goad, I set up a delousing operation. The men were immediately takened to the bath house upon their arrival and their clothing was boiled in two 55 gallon drums located near the kitchen. Late one afternoon as I was overseeing the operation a Japanese soldier came over to me and offered me some Saki to celebrate the end of the war. The two of us went to a nearby place where we could sit down and enjoy our drinks.The second swallow made me very lightheaded . I do not remember if we finished the bottle at that time. As the scene became more vivid in my mind, I had a startling realization. The soldier was you. Although my mind may be playing tricks on me, I feel fairly sure it was you who offered me the Saki. Do you recall this incident?

When I made this realization, I had to stop what I was doing and get this letter off to you.

Sincerely,
Bob
