Dear Yuichi: I regret the delay in answering your letter of May 25th. I was delayed in getting to California and then to Colorado. It was nice to be in the cool weather of San Francisco (60's); although it was unusually hot the first day there. Then it was 92 degrees. Many stores and some older hotels are not prepared for such hot weather as they do not have air conditioners.Sice I have been home, the temperatures have been very hot (mid 90's to 100 degrees). I wish I was back in San Francisco. I have a very nice visit with Dr.Goad while I was in Colorado. He is Colorado. He is a very nice man. I did give him your best regards. He asked me to give you his best regards. I had given him a copy of the New Haven Register, which you had sent me. Thank you for sending me your travel schedule. It will be very nice if we can meet in London in September of 1995. I will be looking forward to seeing you. Tom Wade should be able to arrange a meeting with some of the other X-POW's at that time.If we are unable to get together in London, then we can arrange to meet here in Texas or somewhere else which might be more convenient. Tom or myself will arrange to any meetings. I trust you had a good trip to Russia. I have not had much of a desire to go there as there are so many other places I would prefer to see first. At one time I thought I would like to travel on the Trans-Siberian Railroad, but I have decided against that idea after hearing the experiences of a friend who had made the trip. Next month , I will be going to South Padre Island (southern trip of Texas) for a few days as my three children and their families are getting together. I expect to go to England in September. I recently heard that Admiral Maher had died in February. Tom Wade's manuscript was praivately published in England by his son,as a surpraise for him, by his son, It contained several major mistakes which I called to his attention two years ago. It has since been corrected and expanded and was recently published in Australia. I am ordering two copies from the American distributor. I will send you one copy as a gift for all of the information which you been so kind to give me. Happy traveling. Sincerely, Rob |
