Dear Yuuichi: I hope everything is all right with you as I have not heard from you since just before you left for Australia. My trip to the U.K. to see George Plimer while he was in Scotland turned out very nice. I spent four nights at the RAF Club in London. Tom Wade and Vic Spencer came by for lunch. The next day, Tom and I went to Westminister for the Field of Rememberance memorial service. The Queen Mother was there also.Then went to Edinburgh, Scotland for four nights at The Royal Scots Club. Jim Ford ( not at Omori ) and George Plimer came to see me. George looked good in spite of his cancer. Jim told me that Eddie ( Paddy )Ward was back in the Edinburgh area. I was elated as I had been wanting to thank him for giving me the extra food, which he hada stolen, when I was released from the guardhouse and was in such bad shape. Eddie came to see me and then took me to his place the next day for the night. I enjoyed the visit with Eddie and his wife. We did a lot of talking. I left Scotland for Wales as I had not seen the middle area before. I spent two nights in the area before going to Plymouth, England. This was a sudden decision as the weather in Wales was cold and damp like it had been in Scotland.Larry Holder took Alfie Baker, Tiger Lewis and myself to see Tom Quilliam.Larry and Alfie were not a Omori. Tom is confined to bed. It was a great visit to see him again. I then went back to London for two days. One day was spent with Charles Rogers near Brighton. He and Spencer were in the Special Barracks. I finally got to eat at Rules ( where I took you ) on my last night there. It took me three days to get over the jet lag. Since then I have been busy trying to catch-up on correspondence, writing Christmas cards and doing the many chores that have accumulated while I was gone. I spent the Thanksgiving Holidays with my oldest daughter and her family in San Antonio. I expect to spend the Christmas holidays in the San Francisco area with relatives. December is always a very busy time. I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a happy and healthy New Year. Sincerely BOB |
