  Dear Yuuichi:

Although this month has only 28 days, it seems to be passing rather slowly. This may be due to the fact that I got a bad cold when I went to California to house-sit for my daughter. The cold and sore throat has slowed me down for the last four plus weeks. Finally, the anti-biotics seems to have put me on the road to recovery.

Hopefully, the weather in San Francisco will be better next month than it was in January. I will leave on the 14th with my oldest daughter and her two sons for California. They will visit with my youngest daughter while I will visit my 92 year old uncle. Then we will get together in San Francisco for several days. I am looking forward to showing my grandsons some of the sights of the city. They are 10 and 12 years of the age.

Tom Quilliam was short and rather thin in Omori. He has put on weight due to being bed-ridden for so long. Lt.Bush was in Barracks No.2. I believe that his room was in the rear of the building ( right side ).

Thank you for giving me the address change for your daughter. I hope they are doing well and are enjoying their stay in England. However, I do not think they enjoyed the very cold winter.

Please give my congratulations to Mrs.Endo on the publication of her sixth book. That is a very good achievement. As I mentioned in my previous letter, she has my permission to go ahead with the translation of my manuscript. I greatly appreciate her help. As of now, my desire to have Alma Carroll edit, or revise, the manuscript is on hold ( no action at this time ). There are several reasons for the delay. First, a recognized writer in New Yoork City is reading it and I want to see what she says about the format ( way in which it is written ) before any changes are made. Secondly and more important is my ability now to undertake or to go through the process of making any major rewriting. I do not think that I am up to ( able ) doing that much work. Hopefully, you can understand my feeling at this time. I do not think that any possible editing or revision would significantly affect Mrs.Endo's translation. Please let me know if you or Mrs.Endo believe I am wrong. I repeat, she does have my permission to proceed with the translation.

Please put the enclosed label on the title page of the copy of my manuscript that you have as it has been copyrighted.

Do you plan any overseas trips this year?

Sincerely
BOB
