Dear Yuichi:
Your letter of the 10th arrived yesterday and you are on your way to Turkey.
You will have a very interesting time there.
Congratulation on your 77th birthday. I achieved that age last October.
I was very sorry to hear about the troubles Mr.and Mrs.Endo were experiencing.
There is no hurry for them to write me as they must take care of their
personal problems first.
I was very surprise to learn that Tom had not written you since we were
in London. I got a letter from him a few days ago and he acknowledged
receiving your letter concerning the interview with W. He told of his
being interviewed by Draggan and of his own good responses. I believe
that he has developed a problem similar to that of Zamperini-he is too
full of himself. I mean that he has an ego problem and feels too important.
I hope you understand what I mean by saying this statement.
Draggan said he may come by to talk to me (and to Frank Tinker in Arizona),
but we do not believe he is interested in taking to us. Frank and I realized
that the purpose of the TV program is to glorify Zamerini and that neither
one of us would add anything to it.
I started this letter as a short note to let you know that I will be leaving
Monday for Vancouver, Canada. I do not know how long I will be there.
I may go from there to the San Francisco area to visit my youngest daughter
before her family moves to Charlotte, North Carolina, next month. I will
be gone ten to fourteen days. This was a quick decision.
Sincerely
Bob
