Dear Yuichi:

I am very sorry that I could not reply to your letter of April 26 before this time. I had some major surgery done on April 17 th which was followed by nearly two weeks in the hospital. This left me weal and unable to do anything since then. Consequently, I have been unable to answer any of my correspondence until now. This is my first attempt to sit at my desk and try to response to any of the letters. I will give you more details about what has happened on a separate enclosure which I will be making to explain the delay to the other people who have written me. This may take several days because I am finding it rather difficult to write at this time. Fortunately, the word processor has allowed me to discover and correct most of my mistakes.

The newspaper article was interesting. I have been impressed by the amount of publicity you have received due to your dragon-fly expertise. You can be very proud of your achievements.

I do hope that Mrs. Sasamoto and Nansai will be able to provide me with the photo of Kano and myself. It will be a treasured item to have in my possession. Mrs. Sasamoto is a very nice person. She has sent me photo-copies of the Kawasaki pictures and lists which Joe Alexander had given to you. I am glad that Joe has been able to get to Japan to see you. I was seriously considering in January about going there in April, but circumstances changed all of my travel plans. It will be at least another month before I can begin to consider doing any traveling.

My best wishes to you and your family.

Sincerely
Bob
