Dear Yuichi: I was very happy to receive your letter of 11/5 which completed the identifications in the camp commander's photo.Hopefully, this will be the last time that I will have to redo the list; unless I have made a major error on the enclosures. I thank you again for all of the work that you did in getting the correct IDs ( identification ). I also want to thank you for the listing of the ranks in the Japanese army. This will be of great help to me. I do have a question- what is the equivalent Japanese name for a "general"? The pictures of you and Tobita are appreciated. Thank you. The past two weeks have been busy for me. I always try to have my Christmas cards ready by Thanksgiving Day ( 11/28 ) so that the ones going overseas ( U.K., Norway, Australia and New Zealand ) can be mailed by December 1. The deaths of so many friends, mostly X-POWs, during the past two years have reduced the overseas list considerable. You and I are very fortunate to be enjoying such a long life. Three weeks ago, I got restless and went to San Francisco. I had hoped to be gone for about a week, but the forecast of bad weather for all of the West Coast caused me to return home after three days. Although the brief stay was a disappointment, it was nice to get away and to be there in good weather I did get some exercise by walking the hills. My son and I will be in San Antonio on Thursday for Thanksgiving Day with my daughter's family. My youngest daughter's family in North Carolina will not be there this year. However, they will be here on the weekend of 12/20 when they will place the bronze plaque with my name on it upon the "Wall of Rememberance" at the Nimitz Museum. My best wishes to you and your family. Sincerely Bob Robert R. Martindale *添付リストがあります Japanese Camp Commanders and Staf (Late 1943 ) Front Row (L-R) 1.
